Transformation in the season of transition

The season of transition is here. Holi which is celebrated with colours, food, drinks and lots of joy marks the onset of spring and end of winter. This festival points at the virtue of nature which being an all-encompassing grand entity transforms itself in the form of blossoming beauty and bountiful harvest. This reminds humanity about the possibility of transformation of the self to a happier and more productive version.

Productivity is often associated with our state of mind. Which determines our expressions and our actions. When our mind feels happy even if our body is tired, we cheer up and feel motivated. But when we are sad and angry, our expression to others is often disrespectful and to ourselves it’s regretful. That regret remains pent up and makes it difficult for us to enjoy the true essence of happiness. These emotions then pass on to those around us in the form of expectations. The expectations begin with our wish for people around us to respond and behave in a certain way. When the expectations clash mutually the harmony of our ecosystem is hampered. Most of us are familiar with such tense situations. Are there any solutions to this?

Well, since it’s the festival of colours, let’s learn something from the colours. We often come across in our textbooks that Red, Yellow, and Blue are the three primary colours and all other colours are only a mixture of these colours. That intermixing has created a plethora of diversity that we see around us in the form of the world around us. Just look around and spot the multiple colours. The coexistence of the clear blue of sky. purple hue of the orchids, light green of the new leaves and several other shades of spring – all presents a proof of gradual transformation. Humankind receives a message from this blooming of nature that we too are capable of flourishing in our respective fields of life gradually. How do we enhance this transformation of self?

Here are two key takeaways to make our transformation in the season of transition smoother. Firstly, LET’S TURN OUR REGRETS TO REJOICE for all the blessings of nature. As even our deepest sorrows of life are only transitory, so if we can learn to let go our past regrets and smile often, we would be budding like the flowers. If we are alive and active that itself calls for gratitude and celebration. Secondly, LET’S TURN OUR EXPECTATIONS INTO APPRECIATION for all the diversity and abundance we hold in our lives. This will reflect into our responses to other with more acknowledgement for all that we receive. Just like spring we can be giving and forgiving. These, my friends are reminders directly from nature itself. As nature transforms itself to colourful spring, through small efforts we can also bloom to be a happier and compassionate version of self. Let Khushnay be a part of your transformation for a transition to a happier self .

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holi.
